Small-Town Characters ~ Myla Esperanza
I thought it would be fun to have a look at some of the characters in my small-town romances. Each one has become a real person to me and I know WAY more about them than ever shows up in the stories. Let’s talk characters!
Myla Esperanza
Myla is the first heroine to show up in the Bloo Moose series. Myla’s book is Reaching For Normal (Bloo Moose #1). If you haven’t read it yet, Reaching For Normal is free on all retailers.
Myla is used to being in the background and hiding in the shadows. Today, let’s turn the spotlight on her!

Myla never knew her parents. The details are in the story, so I won’t repeat them here. She was found with a leg that never quite worked the way she liked, and a foot that didn’t grow at the same speed as her other. As you can imagine, that’s caused her a few difficulties, but she works really hard to not let it slow her down.
Myla Esperanza ~ Heroine
Myla would never EVER think of herself as a heroine. Never!
She’s been on her own most of her life and doesn’t have a lot of the connections most of us grow up with. Because of her background, she’s never learned to trust in the connections she’s made with other people.
Over the years, Myla has tried a lot of different jobs, always looking for the one that fits her and feels right. She hasn’t settled in one place. Instead, she lives out of her car, Freddy, and travels the country looking for home.
Myla stumbled into blogging with her Clumsy Girl blog where she describes her daily life and small adventures with a self-deprecating humour that became more popular than she ever expected. Over the years, she’s gained sponsors, and the income adds to that she gets from writing freelance articles.
When Myla heads north to Vermont, she’s both nervous and excited about facing her first winter. She wants to write about winter activities from the viewpoint of a beginner. It doesn’t take her long to regret not buying some winter gear before she meets her first icy road.
Bloo Moose is going to surprise her in many ways. And Sawyer? Yeah, he’ll be the biggest surprise of all.
